ORIENTATION OF THE PROGRAM «RESTORATION OF WELL PRODUCTIVITY»
The Master’s program «Restoration of Well productivity» was organized in 2016 to train specialists in the capital repair of wells.
A necessary condition for the further development of the oil and gas industry in Russia is the creation of highly efficient technologies, and only highly qualified specialists can create such technologies, the basis of whose education is laid at the university.
For a country striving for an innovative economy, the development of an innovative engineering education system is of great importance. In official terminology, innovation is defined as the final result of innovative activity that has been implemented in the form of a new technological process or an improved product sold on the market or used in practice.
In our country, the oil and gas industry is mainly concentrated in the West Siberian region, where about 70% of oil and 92% of gas are produced. More than 180 thousand oil and gas wells have been drilled here over the years of the development of the fuel and energy complex of Western Siberia, of which they are awaiting repair or are «waiting» for repair as «unprofitable»: oil — almost half of the fund (about 50%), gas – about 30%.
At the same time, the level of technical condition of wells, especially those that have not worked out their resource, imposes increased requirements on the quality of repair and restoration work and requires modern scientifically sound technologies and technical means developed by both domestic and foreign specialists for these purposes.
The modern experience of well overhaul, especially at the final stage of field development, provides for an integrated approach to each well to make a competent technological decision on a specific type of its repair, up to the development of a working project for its implementation (drilling an additional shaft from a cased well, conducting HFP and HSP, processing the bottom-hole zone for stimulating impact on the formation, Repair and insulation works and processing of the bottom hole zone technologies using flexible pipe installations, etc.).
More than 300 specialized teams of various domestic and foreign oil and gas producing companies and firms are engaged in the repair and maintenance of such wells only in Western Siberia, where the need for certified specialists in cattle is more than 150 people per year and has a steady upward trend for at least the next 20 years.
Graduate of the Master’s degree program ‒ this is a multifaceted specialist list prepared for work in drilling operations departments as: drilling technologist, drilling master, engineer, supervisor, management manager (company). The curriculum is formed to form the competence of a specialist in oil, gas and gas condensate production; drilling supervisor in the oil and gas industry; a specialist in the capital repair of oil and gas wells, which allows you to work at well capital repair enterprises, at oil and gas production enterprises, in the departments for improving oil recovery, drilling side wells, in research and design institutes, in educational institutions — as a teacher, as well as continue your postgraduate studies in the direction 25.00.15 — «Technology of drilling and development of wells».
The master’s program «Restoration of well productivity» is one of the most popular specialties, all graduates of the department are provided with jobs at drilling enterprises of the oil and gas industry. The main employers are: Gazprom‒Drilling LLC, Surgutneftegaz PJSC, Siberian Service Company JSC, Eurasia Drilling Company LLC, SurgutSRDIneft Tyumen Branch, companies: Schlumberger, Halliburton, KCA Deutag, subsidiaries of Rosneft, etc. the company.
Undergraduates of the program actively participate in International and All-Russian conferences, competitions, and practice at Lukoil-engineering «KogalymSRDIneft» (Tyumen).
